Policies and Terms of Service
At the Wyalusing Area Education Foundation, transparency, accountability, and community trust are central to everything we do. The following outlines our current practices and guiding principles. These standards ensure donors, volunteers, educators, and community partners understand how we operate and how their contributions make a difference.
Our goal is simple: make every contribution count while upholding the highest standards of integrity.
Governance and Oversight
Board of Directors
Our volunteer board provides strategic direction, financial oversight, and ensures all programs align with the Foundation's mission.
Committees
Committees oversee specific areas—such as grants, scholarships, and fundraising—to promote efficiency, transparency, and mission alignment.
Donations and Giving
Use of Funds
All contributions are allocated to scholarships, grants, educational programs, or operating expenses as designated by donors or approved by the board.
Acknowledgment
Every donor receives written acknowledgment and tax documentation for their gift.
Planned Gifts
We welcome conversations with donors interested in establishing legacy or endowment gifts.
Grants
Eligibility
Available to educators, administrators, and approved school programs within the Wyalusing Area School District.
Application Process
Applications should be submitted to [email protected]. Each proposal is reviewed by the Board and must comply with program-specific guidelines.
Reporting Requirements
Grant recipients must submit a final report upon completion of the funded project.
Prohibited Use
Funds must be used only for the approved project. If a project cannot be completed, unused funds must be returned to the Foundation.
Scholarships
Eligibility & Application
Criteria are outlined within each individual scholarship fund.
Awarding
Scholarships are selected through committee review and based on fund-specific requirements.
Disbursement
Funds are distributed directly to the student or educational institution, as directed by the donor’s intent.
Changes in Eligibility
If a recipient’s circumstances change (e.g., a change in major or enrollment status) and they no longer meet the scholarship’s criteria, the Foundation will review the situation on a case-by-case basis and may adjust or rescind the award.
Privacy and Data Security
The Foundation values and protects the privacy of all donors, students, and applicants. Personal information collected through donations, scholarship, or grant applications is securely stored. Data is never sold or shared without consent.
Conflict of Interest and Ethics
All board members, staff, and volunteers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and must recuse themselves from related decisions.
The Foundation adheres to nonprofit governance best practices and complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
